Two of 2015's greatest hit on huge specs are the Huawei-made Nexus 6P and Sony's Xperia Z5 Premium which features a 4K display. Here is a comparison of these two giants and see what they have to offer.
On the inside, there are a few similarities between the two. Both run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 CPU and feature a 3GB of RAM. Both have truly huge batteries and huge displays on the front.
The Nexus 6P packs a 2560x1440 worth of screen resolution with an AMOLED display, while Sony's has an Ultra HD 4K display that packs quite a punch.
Both run the Snapdragon 810 but use it in quite different ways. Sony appears to keep running from 5-cores while the Nexus 6P runs on eight cores. Neither gets especially hot with regular usage, which is indeed a good news.
Sony (3430 mAH) guarantees up to 2-days of battery life, but on extreme use, you may require a charger by the day's end. With the 6P (3450 mAH), you can get two days worth of battery life. However, precise battery life is totally dependent on how you use these phones.
Both have quick charging technologies.
The camera on the Xperia Z5 Premium is an indistinguishable shooter from you'll discover on the Z5 Compact and the standard Z5. That is, it's a 23MP sensor that more often than not delivers oversampled 8MP pictures. The front camera is a 5 MP shooter.
On the Nexus 6P, the 12.3 MP camera doesn't disappoint either and is capable of clicking sharp images. The front-facing camera on the Nexus 6P can click images at 8 MP.
In the UK, the Xperia Z5 Premium rundown cost is £600, for the dark model, £629. The Nexus 6P 32GB model costs a fairly humbler £449. A 128GB Nexus 6P will cost £579. The price of the 6P is far less than the Z5 Premium, but not by a lot. If you're after a better camera and display, then Sony can deliver.
