The Lenovo Z2 Plus has come out in India with a 5-inch display and Snapdragon 820 processor which could be a direct competitor to the Xiaomi Mi 5. However, which one will prevail?
While the Lenovo Z2 Plus showcases a 5-inch LTPS Full HD display with a pixel thickness of 441 PPI, the Xiaomi Mi 5 offers a 5.15-inch FHD display with 428PPI.
The Z2 Plus' Snapdragon 820 processor and Adreno 530 GPU offers a smooth experience. It has two variations, namely 4GB RAM and 3GB RAM. While the 4GB RAM variant comes furnished with 64GB internal storage, the 3GB RAM display bears a 32GB storage limit.
On the other hand, the Xiaomi Mi 5 has the same Snapdragon 820 processor, Adreno 530 GPU, and 3GB LPDDR4 RAM. The default storage is 32GB with support for microSD card.
In terms of camera, the Lenovo Z2 Plus has a 13MP ISOCELL primary camera with f/2.2, Hybrid self-focus, auto HDR including support for EIS. You will have the capacity to record 4K video at 240 fps. The Mi 5 offers 16MP back camera with every standard element including dual tone flash.
Discussing the front shooters, the Z2 Plus has an 8MP with 1.4uM and wide point shooting, which is higher than the 4MP in Mi 5. The front camera here is a let down for Xiaomi fans.
The Lenovo phone offers 3500mAh lithium polymer battery, while the Xiaomi model is outfitted with a 3000mAh battery with quick charging support.
Furthermore, the Z2 Plus comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Google Now launcher, whereas the Mi 5 offers Android 6.0 Marshmallow which is skinned with MIUI 7, also upgradeable to MIUI 8.
The Lenovo Z2 Plus certainly takes down the Xiaomi Mi5 here. For those who have to choose between the two, the RAM, the front camera, and the battery capacity can be a deciding factor.
