When we talk about the Surface brand of Microsoft, the topic quickly shifts to the elusive Surface phone. Though Microsoft tried to compete in the market with Nokia after launching Windows phones, it failed unanimously. Still, the fight in the smartphone market continues. Since the Surface brand has a good reputation, it is likely that Microsoft will be launching another lineup in its name.
Rumors surrounding the launch and development of Microsoft Surface phone hints that Microsoft is patiently developing the next-generation Surface phone for the mass market. Also, it was hinted that we could expect its launch next year.
It is expected that Microsoft is likely to introduce three new smartphones from the Surface Phone line-up in 2017 based on the information that Microsoft had obtained the surfacephone.com domain name.
The entry level Surface Phone will come with 4GB RAM and the most premium variant will boast of 8 GB worth of RAM. Furthermore, there's a good chance that the next Windows Phone from Microsoft will be powered by Intel's latest processor which is the Kaby Lake furnished with a 5.5 inch Active-Matrix Organic Light-emitting Diode display, a USB Port and a liquid cooling technology.
There speculation regarding the Surface phones that include features like fingerprint reader, compass, barometer, proximity sensors and a 20-megapixel Carl Zeiss rear camera.
There has also been a Tech Radar report saying that the Surface Phone could have a display-embedded fingerprint scanner, which represents the traits of next-gen smartphones.
Microsoft is also vocal and open about a new solution to run both Android and iOS Apps with their existing app onto the Windows 10 with minimum coding, called "Bridge solution."
However, there are no confirmations with the release date, and Microsoft could have delayed the launch for Intel's new chips to fully mature.
