The gripping visual novel adventure series "Zero Escape" will be making its way to the Playstation 4, Playstation Vita and PC next year.
Spike Chunsoft and Aksys Games announced this week on the Playstation Blog that the first two games in the "Zero Escape" series, "999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors" and "Virtue's Last Reward," will be released as a bundle called "Zero Escape: The Nonary Games." Both games were originally released for the Nintendo DS.
In the first game, "999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors," nine different people were chosen to play the "Nonary Game" by an unknown being named Zero. The players will mainly control Junpei, accompanied by another girl they only know as June, as they try to make their way out of the game alive.
Meanwhile, the second game, "Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward," shows another batch of nine individuals who are forced to play the Nonary Game again, but this time with a twist. The main character is Sigma, and he is joined by a girl named Phi.
According to the Aksys Games' Danny Miscevich, the PS4 and PS Vita versions "999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors" will have remastered HD graphics, as well as both English and Japanese voice acting. The Steam page also mentioned this, so the PC version will also have the same remastered quality as the PS4 and Vita ports.
Both games are well received by fans and critics alike, and its third installment, "Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma," is also critically acclaimed and widely praised for its complex yet engrossing story and unique puzzles, although it could get pretty confusing for those who have not played the first two titles.
"Zero Escape: The Nonary Games" will be released sometime in the first quarter of 2017. The bundle will be released in both physical and digital form in North America and Europe.
