Bethesda has declared that it is still hard at work in pushing for "Fallout 4" mods on Playstation 4, although no dates can be given as of the moment.
According to Bethesda's VP for Marketing Pete Hines, the publisher aims to make mod support work the same on both Xbox One and Playstation 4.
Responding to a fan on Twitter, Hines said, "We did that already," referring to making mod support for Sony's console the same as Microsoft's. "It wasn't approved. Whether it will change in the future, I don't know. It isn't up to me."
"We will continue to push to have mods work the same on all platforms," Hines added.
As for when mod support will arrive for "Fallout 4" on the PS4, Hines confirmed that he does not have a date for it yet.
Earlier this week, Bethesda has announced that its other upcoming game "Skyrim Special Edition" will have mod support for the PS4. However, it will only be given a limited space of 1GB per system, to the disappointment of PS4 users everywhere.
Adding to the disappointment is the fact that the Xbox One mod storage for "Skyrim: Special Edition" is five times bigger than the PS4 version.
Not that the PS4 version has a wide array of mods to choose from, anyway. At the moment, Bethesda has started accepting mod submissions for both consoles. As of this writing (Oct. 25, 4:45 p.m. PT) the PS4 mod library has a measly 11 mods to choose from, compared to Xbox One's 69 mod count.
None of the mods on the PS4 is unique to the console so far, as all the mods on the PS4 library are also available on the Xbox One.
As explained by Bethesda, the reason why Xbox One owners got the better deal when it comes to mods for "Skyrim: Special Edition" is due to the fact that uploading external assets on the PS4 is not allowed by Sony, something that the developer has no control over.
Stay tuned for more updates about "Fallout 4" mod support.
