A number of speculations say that "GTA 6" is inbound, but even more rumors strongly suggest that "GTA Online" will get more expansions. Will this slow the 6th game in the series' development?

It's been roughly three years since the release of "Grand Theft Auto 5" on the console and followed by the eventual release for the PC two years after. Since then, the game has never been so alive than ever up to this day, especially the large supporting community of "GTA Online."

This is what makes it a bit scary for those looking forward for "Grand Theft Auto 6." In fact, a number of discussions with different sources indicate that Rockstar Games deems "GTA Online" as a game worth getting more attention on a longer stretch.

Softsecrets' post from GTA Forums suggests that the team behind "GTA V" and "GTA Online" already made a roadmap for the future DLC releases for the game, which mainly focuses on multiplayer aspects.

Most of the speculations lead to further expanding the map for "GTA Online" and it doesn't surprise anybody that it actually grows larger albeit slowly. This keeps the players of "GTA Online" wanting for more and by doing so, Rockstar is very courteous enough by adding more of these requests.

But it may be taken into consideration that "Red Dead Redemption 2" was announced out of nowhere, despite the lack of true sources and news. The same could happen with "GTA 6," but the only difference is, "Red Dead Redemption" was long released and there wasn't really much of an in-game community to get a slice of the developers' attentions and focus.

Still, knowing that "Grand Theft Auto" is Rockstar's best and one of its main franchises, there's no way that an idea such as "GTA 6" will be scrapped for good. It could be canned for later, but expect that unexpected as the company behind it have always surprised fans with its announcements.
