Things have been quiet since the hype for "Bravely Second" died down, but Square Enix has now hinted that there may be more "Bravely" news coming soon.
The "Bravely" series celebrated its fourth anniversary this week, Oct. 11, and the official "Bravely" account posted an image to commemorate the special occasion on Twitter, along with a slight tease for an upcoming "Bravely" related news.
According to Gematsu, the tweet translates to: "It's Bravely's four-year anniversary! We apologize as news has been scant recently. There may be something soon....!?"
Fans are now hoping that the pending announcement is related to the highly anticipated next installment to the "Bravely" series, which is referred to as "Bravely Third."
"Bravely" producer Tomoya Asano has confirmed last year that he is already planning on continuing the series.
"It might make you say 'What?!' given the timing, but I already have the concept for 'Bravely Third' in me," Asano said in an interview with Famitsu (via Gematsu). "If sales for ['Bravely Second' are good enough, I'm planning to immediately submit a proposal. Please give me your support!"
The second title, "Bravely Second," also presented a few plot threads as well, according to Nintendo Everything, so it makes sense to continue the franchise with "Bravely Third."
Asano, however, is also considering whether to create a sequel to "Bravely Second," or come up with a new "Bravely" title, according to an interview with Japanese site Gamer last year (via Siliconera).
"Hmm... yes, we're currently thinking about whether a sequel would be more appropriate or if a completely new title would be more appropriate," Asano said. "This is currently a hot topic among [the development team]."
The "Bravely" series is one of the well-received Japanese RPG franchises for the Nintendo 3DS, with the first two titles "Bravely Default" and "Bravely Second" getting huge praises from RPG fans around the world.
Will "Bravely Third" be on its way soon? Stay tuned for updates.
