"Final Fantasy" creator Hironobu Sakaguchi still keeps mum about his future projects. However, the Mistwalker President finally had the opportunity to mention what he is up to at the moment. It seems like he is cooking up something really good right now and his brains just cannot handle the excitement. Today, he told 4Gamer as part of their year end mass interview, that he will be releasing something solid this upcoming year.
"Final Fantasy" may still be doing well with the current versions right now, but it seems like Sakaguchi-san has other things in mind, including a new game to be developed starting 2017. Hints on the new game show that it will be entirely different and far out from the original concepts he had in mind such as "Final Fantasy."
Hironobu Sakaguchi, however, had stated before that he is actually working on a gaming console model of one of his successful mobile games - the "JRPG Terra Battle." Sources close to Sakaguchi said that the development of the said mobile-turned console game is under way and progressing, however, it seems like it is still far from completion.
Aside from the announcement that a new game will be developed in 2017, Sakaguchi added that he will be having a partnership with technology company, Silicon Studio, developer of "Bravely Default." The middleware provider is expected to be working with the gaming genius for the new games they will be developing.
It is still not confirmed as of this moment if the projects in partnership with Silicon Studio will be the same project they will be releasing in 2017. They can actually be completely separate games. 2017 looks like it is going to be one of the best years for gaming industry. "Tetra Battle' is such a great game and if Sakaguchi-san is working on it, it will probably be well appreciated by fans. Time will tell if the speculations are correct though.
