Now that the Christmas season is over, some of lucky gamers might have received Nintendo's portable gaming consoles as a present whether it is a Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 2DS or the latest Nintendo 3DS XL. However, if you're still undecided or confused on what type of game is worthy of your hard-earned cash, then were here to help.

Polygon made an incredible list of games recommended for the Nintendo 3DS, 2DS and 3DS XL. Players should start off with Nintendo Classics like "The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds," which is a top-down adventure that resembles the game's SNES game, "A Link to the Past."

Next is "Super Mario 3D" which comes from a long line of Nintendo's "Super Mario" franchise. The game employs the best use of a fuller stereoscopic 3D slider.

"Pokemon Sun and Moon" makes another great addition to anyone's 3DS, 2DS or 3DS XL game library. This game will take you on a role-playing adventure in the Alola region, where you can collect and evolve hundred of pokemons.

"Mario Kart 7" is one of the most popular 3DS game which was sold over 13 million times. This racing game features hang-gliding, 16 playable characters, 32 courses and kart customizations.

If you are an adventure type player then the strategy role-playing game, "Fire Emblem Awakening" and the latest 3DS entry "Monster Hunter Generation" might be more to your liking.

The "Xenoblade Chronicles 3D", which is one of the rare Nintendo 3DS-only exclusives, has dozens of quests, large areas to explore and lots of items to collect. The traditional Japanese role-playing game, "Bravely Default" and the "Person Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth" were also recommended.

For the short session games that you can finish in 15 minutes, "The Animal Crossing: New Leaf", "Rhythm Heaven Megamix", "BoxBoy!", "Picross 3D 2" and "Push Mo" are great choices for the Nintendo 3DS.
