"Rick and Morty" will return with an all-new season as recently, series creator Dan Harmon teased the possible release date of new episodes for the Adult Swim series.

At the Magic City Comic Con in January, Harmon teased that "Rick and Morty" season 2 will come out sooner than what most fans and viewers are expecting, Geek reported. It is believed that the hit Adult Swim series will premiere later this year.

"I think Season 3 is-we're targeting around the end of this year," Harmon said at the panel. "You guys do realize we're at the beginning of this year?"

In-depth details about "Rick and Morty" season 3's plot has been kept secret. What is known is that the next season will have longer and darker 14 episodes, in contrast to its previous season.

Latest reports claimed Beth (Sarah Chalke) and Jerry's (Chris Parnell) marriage may be coming to an end in the upcoming season of "Rick and Morty." It is worth nothing that Beth and Jerry's marriage has been on the rocks since the first season of the animated series.

Talks about the possible Beth and Jerry's divorce began after Dan Harmon admitted that the premise of the Smith's unsteady connection is wearing thin.

"I thought that Jerry and Beth getting a divorce would be like Kenny being killed in 'South Park,' like," Dan Harmon said in the commentary track for "Rick and Morty" season 2 DVD. "When we first conceived the show... that it would never run out of shelf life that that was the kind of joke about like, oh all our parents were about to get a divorce."

However, Dan Harmon stated that the viewers may see Beth's progress in the story. He added: "I think Millenial viewers are like, 'I don't understand, why don't they just recycle more?' So, season three we kind of move the Beth story forward."
