"Rick and Morty Season 3" creator Dan Harmon finally addressed speculations and revealed the reasons that are holding up the popular adult animated series. He channeled this through an interview during the Sundance Film Festival and through his Twitter account.
Harmon and co-creator Justin Roiland, who is also the voice behind the "Rick and Morty's" main characters, are not connecting in terms of making the storyline. Both could not come to an agreement on where they want to steer "Rick and Morty Season 3." Harmon admitted that both of them were having fights about it and even fights about why they were fighting.
Moments after those remarks on Indiewire surfaced, Harmon posted a lengthy 15-part tweet. He clarified what he really meant by his statement about him and Roilan were fighting all the time for the upcoming "Rick and Morty Season 3." His earlier statement sparked speculations that in-house fighting is the cause of delay for "Rick and Morty Season 3" production.
Moreover, Harmon said that there are two reasons they do not want to disclose too much information about the airdate of "Rick and Morty Season 3." One reason is that they do not want "Rick and Morty Season 3" writers and artists to feel pressured and harassed. In addition, he claimed that "Rick and Morty Season 3" airdate would depend upon the decision of Adult Swim executives.
Harmon also made it clear that the fights he had with Roiland are about their desire to perfect the stories because they love it too much. In addition, he said that because "Rick and Morty" rippled a great following, both of them just want to give the best to the show's fans. Ultimately, there need and demand for perfection is causing "Rick and Morty Season 3" to delay. An Adult Swim spokesperson established to Indiewire that at present, there is still no premiere date for "Rick and Morty Season 3." At the moment, "Rick and Morty Season 3" is deep in production, claimed Harmon.
