Ubisoft's popular shooter game, "Tom Clancy's The Division," is slowly losing steam, with a lot of players abandoning the game due to a number of reasons.
"The Division" was received positively by fans of the genre when it was released in March. Just a few months after its launch, however, fans have been slowly abandoning the game, citing various reasons like poor support, bad end game, tons of bugs and glitches, among others.
Recent reviews on Steam are not doing Ubisoft's once prime game any favors either. The game recently received tons of reviews on the site, and only almost 40 percent of them are positive.
Players have expected for Ubisoft to make a comeback with its recent expansion release, the "Underground DLC." Unfortunately, the latest DLC still did not reach the community's expectations.
The Xbox One version of "Underground" was given a score of 69 on the review aggregator site Metacritic, and an even lower score of 63 for the PS4 version.
The other reviews for the expansion were not favorable either. IGN gave the game a low score of 5.8, criticizing the endless grinding players would have to do in the game, plus the unfair player matchmaking.
Recently, God Is A Geek also rated "Underground" poorly, calling the DLC "undercooked," and citing that the new expansion has brought nothing new to "The Division."
With all the negative reviews "The Division" is getting from critics and players alike, this now puts a huge pressure on "The Division"'s upcoming expansion, "Survival."
According to "The Division" Associate Creative Director Julian Gerighty, the "Survival" DLC will offer "a completely new way to play the game," according to The Division Zone.
The "Survival" DLC will focus on, as the title implies, survival in the harsh environment of Mahattan. The new story campaign may revolve around the pandemic and the players' search for the ultimate cure.
"Tom Clancy's The Division: Survival DLC" has no set release date yet, but may come to the Xbox One and PC first, followed by the Playstation 4 launch.
