Epic Games surprised Fortnite players with the warm return of classic DC characters into its item shop. Popular characters such as Catwoman, Harley Quinn, and Starfire are back for the month of December—and that's an advanced Christmas gift for the franchise fans.

Most of these skins haven't appeared in the item shop for nearly a year or longer, which sparks much excitement and eagerness in those who did not have an opportunity to get them when they were first released.

Fortnite Brings Back DC Icons

Fortunes of collaboration between Fortnite and DC have been monumental, especially considering the previous events featured characters like Batman and Superman not only in the game but also in crossover comic books, GameRant reports.

Since Disney had made a $1.5 billion stake in Epic Games, some fans feared that this was the end for DC skins. But the new announcement quashes all those doubts, ensuring that DC continues to stay in Fortnite.

Chapter 6 Season 1 Kickstart

The returning skins of DC seem to resonate with the good fortunes that Fortnite's Chapter 6 Season 1 is receiving after its early December launch. The season introduces a map and characters with a Japanese theme, widely accepted by players.

Furthermore, this chapter came after the completion of Chapter 2 Remix, the season that marked Fortnite's history in collaboration with some big names like Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Juice WRLD.

The remix season finale broke Fortnite's record for concurrent players, which really sets the stage for a great start to Chapter 6.

Upcoming DC Skins and Collaborations

Fortnite has finally confirmed DC characters, which means hints that even more favorites, such as Batman and Joker, are to reappear soon.

Together with the re-release of some favorite characters, rumors also began to flow about the huge Marvel collaboration in the future. The coexistence of both Marvel and DC characters may appear at the item shop, fulfilling the wishes of many.

What's the Wishlist of Fans

Other fans believe that cars would be essential for Fortnite as they form an integral part of this popular game. Cars like Batmobile should therefore be integrated into the game to accompany returning DC characters and thereby create a fantastic gaming experience.

Opportunities and Challenges in Chapter 6

Although there is excitement over the new season, players have expressed dissatisfaction with the game's XP system. Most of them feel they spend much time on the game but are rewarded very little.

This issue has doused the excitement of some players, but promises of more collaborations with franchises like Godzilla, Demon Slayer, and Cyberpunk 2077 keep the community optimistic.

A week ago, IGN reported that Fortnite Chapter 6 added Japan's most famous Kaiju: Godzilla. Along with the building-sized dinosaur creature, Big Hero 6's Baymax was also tipped to be arriving in the same update.

Fortnite crossovers are so huge that even Star Wars fans can enjoy the battle royale action with Chewbacca, Luke Skywalker, and other notable characters in the series. In September, Epic brought some of the beloved skins including Leia Organa, AWR Trooper, and Lando Calrissian.
