There are already tons of games out for the VR and "Resident Evil 7" is part of the modern games taking advantage of the technology. Is it necessary though?
Daily Mail UK recently reported that there had been a number of complaints about how the VR is integrated with the upcoming Capcom title "Resident Evil 7." It would seem like the VR feature is causing too much immersion that it already causes nausea to players.
According to Engadget, the game was "a sweaty, puke-inducing masterpiece." It is, by no means, a great demo on its own, but not without some unforeseen shortcomings. That being a minor problem, is very subjective depending on the players and the full experience.
The demo has been out for some time now and Capcom found out that there had been some players who got uncomfortable with the VR feature.
Supposedly, the VR should have been increased the immersion of the demo game, but instead, it distracted the players in becoming otherwise.
In Kotaku's post, Patrick Klepek had the same vommit-inducing experience with the game.
"In VR, a flashlight is controlled by moving your head around, but players can independently move with a controller. This means it's possible to move in one direction while looking in another. That's not a shocking combo for VR-lots of games use it-but the moment I did both at the same time, the banana I had at Starbucks was saying hi in my stomach." he stated.
A lot of games incorporate the control scheme, but it would seem that the game would still require further improvement especially the framerate, which shows as the main culprit with the uncomfortable experience.
Capcom did release a statement about the game's state and we can look forward to a better implementation in the full game for "Resident Evil 7" or if there would be another demo that we can get our hands on soon.
