Nintendo is planning a heavy duty games lineup for its upcoming console, the Nintendo NX.

According to MCV, a source told the site that the game publishing giant is planning on putting out new games from a few of their biggest franchises within six months from the console's release.

A new "Pokémon" title is said to be in the works for the Nintendo NX, and will be developed by Game Freak.

"Pokémon" titles are usually a hit on handheld game consoles, and if the rumors of a portable Nintendo NX is true, then a "Pokémon" game is perfect for the company's first few titles for the console.

As for first-party titles, Nintendo is said to be planning a new "Super Mario" game for the Nintendo NX.

This is rumored to be revealed a few months after the console's launch, and may possibly be a launch title alongside the highly anticipated game, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild."

The company is also out and about securing third-party support for the Nintendo NX, and big name companies like Ubisoft, Square Enix, Sega, Activision and Warner Bros. are said to have already jumped on the NX train.

This smart move from Nintendo is said to stem from the slow start that its previous consoles, the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, suffered from. The company is making sure that the NX does not suffer the same fate.

The same source also confirmed recent rumors about the portability of the Nintendo NX as reported by Eurogamer, and is said to be "100 percent accurate."

The game graphics is said to be "somewhere between a PS3 and a PS4," and the target audience seems to sit between smartphone gamers and console gamers.

"It's a nice bit of kit, a bit of a novelty, but a good one," an executive who has allegedly seen the NX said. "It won't appeal to PS4 fans. Nintendo seems set on trying to upgrade smartphone gamers. That's going to be a big job for the marketing department."

The Nintendo NX is slated for a March 2017 release date.
