Playtonic Games released its first official demo for "Yooka-Laylee" called the "Toybox Demo" and PC players/backers will get access to it earlier.

For those who have pledged $26 and above, the game's first demo can now be downloaded using the provided download code through their emails. The demo will let players get a preview of the game's pre-alpha state on both PC, Linux and OSX systems.

The Toybox demo, which was announced in May, is different from most videogame demos offered by usual game makers. "Yooka-Laylee" Toybox demo focuses more on showing the players what actions can be done in-game.

It is similar to a Sandbox setup where players get to check and see the platforming mechanics without any real preview of the in-game story. The preview effectively demonstrates the team-work mechanics as well showing how significant Yooka to Laylee is and the other way around.

As for console gamers, "Yooka-Laylee" won't have a preview or demo available and will only be released once the game reaches its final stage and official release.

The video below shows a glimpse the things that can be done in the Toybox demo for the game.

However, according to the FAQ from Playtonic Games, it would still be just a very small sneak-peak to the game's developmental stage and the mechanics will still be improved upon just as the visual enhancements.

To get the demo, users need to launch their Steam client software and log in to their Steam accounts. The game will be acquired and downloaded through the "Activate a Product on Steam" option.

Digital Trend reported that the game did a good job of reliving the visual feel that we've enjoyed before with its spiritual predecessor, "Banjo-Kazooie." This has been the developers' main focus in creating the game.

"Yooka-Laylee" is slated for an early 2017 release for both Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
