Looks like people can't get enough of "Pokemon GO." Aspiring Pokemon masters are eveywhere trying to catch them all (whenever the servers are up, that is). However, one question remains: If we can catch them all, then where are the four legendary Pokemon?
Ever since "Pokemon GO" went live in the US, Australia and New Zealand, no one has ever caught any of the Legendary Pokemon: Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres and Mewtwo.
Comicbook.com, however, pointed out that the legendary birds are prominently featured on the logos for the teams in "Pokemon GO": Articuno for Team Mystic, Zapdos for Team Instinct and Moltres for Team Valor, and they are even sporting the same color schemes as the Legendary Pokemon.
The site speculated that while they are not in the game (yet), Niantic Labs are possibly gearing up for something bigger.
For fans of Niantic's other augmented-reality game, "Ingress," it is known that the developer usually organizes citywide events for the players. Speculations point to a possible huge "Pokemon GO" event for the Legendary Pokemon soon.
Judging from the game's popularity at the moment, that's got to be one crazy huge event for the Pokefans.
Niantic Labs did tell Venture Beat last year that the developers are planning to do live events similar to what they have been doing with "Ingress."
"We haven't announced yet," Niantic Lab's CEO John Hanke said. "But I'd say that given the success we've had with Ingress, it's a pretty safe bet."
The idea is being widely speculated by aspiring Australian Pokemon masters. Stevivor reports that a special "Pokemon GO" legendary event is rumored to start this weekend, and some people say that it will possibly be held in a major park, probably big enough to host a huge number of Pokemon masters-in-training.
Of course, while these are all mere speculations, it is totally possible. Remember the first "Pokemon GO" trailer where a lot of people are battling against Mewtwo in Times Square ? Here's the video so you can get excited all over again.
