It has been a few days since Sony surprised the fans with a new "God of War" 4 gameplay trailer, complete with a full orchestra setup and Kratos' full beard. Now with fans begging for more, some have tried analyzing the contents of the trailer, and here's what they found out.

Is Kratos' Son a Playable Character?

The Insightful Panda speculates that there is a possibility of Kratos' son being playable, just like "Assassin's Creed III." However, creative director Cory Balrog already told Kotaku that it will not be a "God of War" game without Kratos.

The site also pointed out the "Knowledge Points" added to archery during Kratos and his son's hunting lesson. "But why would we get a bonus to our skill for teaching someone else archery?" the site asked.

Weather Conditions May Play a Huge Role In The Game

During the boss battle, the frozen river underneath them has begun to crack and melt. This may mean that the locations and weather conditions will greatly affect the battles in this game. That, or maybe it was just added to this particular scene for dramatic effect.

What is Up With That Deer's Antlers?

During the part where Kratos instructs his son to kill the deer, the deer's antlers glowed an icy blue color. Redditors speculated that this most likely means Norse Mythology, which ties up with the fact that the troll has mentioned "Valhalla" during the trailer.

That is Definitely Not a River...

Towards the end of the clip, at around 9:15, the camera pans out to reveal the beautiful sky and the clear river below. Or is it really a river? Some eagle-eyed fans have pointed out that the river that flows behind the trees in the trailer is in fact not a river, but a huge scaled monster.

"Nah, man, those are scales," NeoGAF user Fliesen wrote. "And they're clearly moving in front of the treeline--if that were a river, you'd see some kind of shoreline."

Tieing up that information with the Norse Mythology speculation, this means that fans may see the World Serpent, Jormungandr, in the game, and maybe even get the chance to fight it.

Other Possible "God of War" Baddies

Some people have also seen other entities hidden in the trailer, such as this floating ghost at around 3:45.

There is another creature spotted at 6:45, right after the Troll boss fight, and can be seen flying and holding what looks like a staff or a stick.

These are interesting speculations. Unfortunately, we need to wait for a couple more months to validate these claims.

"God of War" 4 will be a Playstation 4-exclusive game and is yet to get a release date window.
