First-person shooter game "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" will break new grounds, game developer Infinity Ward declared.
In Gamespot's recent interview, design director Jacob Minkoff expressed his desire to play a game like Infinite Warfare for a long time now, saying that he has waited two decades until the team decided to make it themselves.
Minkoff said that the "gritty, authentic military feel" was replicated in other media, but not in video games, until now.
According to Polygon, the story focuses on Nick Reyes, a normal soldier who suddenly becomes the captain of one of the last vessels on earth, the Retribution, after the previous captain died.
The Settlement Defense Front, an insurgent group who broke off from the United Nations Space Alliance, is trying to control all the resources by taking over space colonies.
One of the leaders of this insurgent group will be played by no other than Jon Snow himself, "Game of Thrones" actor Kit Harington.
"Kit is portraying a character who is a notable character in the Settlement Defense Front," Narrative director Taylor Kurosaki told Gamespot in an interview. "So he, in many ways, is the face, or one of the main faces, of the enemy."
Harrington, who has never played a villain before, was said to relish the opportunity to play as the bad guy this time.
"He totally ran with it and he just got into that character and got into that whole mindset of the Settlement Defense Front," Kurosaki said.
In other news, Activision will also release a "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" remastered version, but this will only be exclusive to people who will buy the "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" premium versions.
"Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" will be available on November 4 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, with all DLC's coming to the PS4 first, according to Gamespot.
