Microsoft has recently switched to Bluetooth Xbox One Controller with its new Xbox One S Console. However, the compatibility of the Bluetooth-enable controllers is restricted only to Windows 10 for now.
Although the basic launch involves only Windows 10 operating system, yet Microsoft has definite plans of launching Xbox One games to other platforms, according to The Verge.
"We want to be on any device that a gamer has," said Mike Ybarra, director of program management at Microsoft, "whether that's a competing platform or our platform."
This strategy is in tune with Microsoft's approach to mobile and Windows Phone, and building apps and services for rival platforms, making sure that Xbox is used everywhere.
Moreover, Microsoft will be bringing a couple more features to its Android and iOS apps, the most intriguing being the new Clubs option.
Clubs will be a collection of Xbox Live members who are interested in any particular game. Club members can not only chat with each other, but also set up parties, play games together through the Xbox consoles, and Xbox apps for Windows 10, Android and iOS.
Although Microsoft has not commented on its plans for Bluetooth controller support, yet it can be imagined that Xbox One games will be arriving on the rival platforms like iOS and Android.
There are a couple of challenges hindering the immediate launch, especially on the iOS API side, but it seems that it will be solved easily with Microsoft's latest updates.
Meanwhile, Microsoft is working on a summer update to the Xbox One, which will introduce Cortana, some improved UI and features and the universal Windows 10 app globally for all users.
The newest Club features, however, will be introduced in October, along with updates to the Xbox dashboard. With Gamescom scheduled this August, users will definitely know more about Microsoft's plan with Xbox.
