The Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3, is just around the corner, and as the date draws near, the speculations around this year's biggest games expo has gone into hyper overdrive. Among the most notable question is, will Sony actually show us the new Playstation 4.5 at E3?
Mobile & Apps has previously reported that the Sony Playstation 4.5 Neo may be released sometime around September, according to French video game distributor Innelec Multimedia. The distributor quickly denied the claims. "It is possible that during the 2016/2017 fiscal developments exist on the current PS4," the company said. "For the moment we have no information about the nature of them."
Sony has recently added another milestone to their already long list of accomplishments. The Playstation 4 has sold over 40 million consoles this year, BitBag reported. "We are truly grateful for the enormous support from our fans and partners across the globe, which helped us achieve this significant milestone in such a short span of time," Sony Interactive Entertainment Global CEO and President Andrew House said in a press release. "We will strive to deliver even more exciting gaming experiences to our users, further driving the momentum and accelerating the expansion of the PS4 platform and its business this fiscal year by offering an unparalleled line-up of games, bringing our virtual reality system, PlayStation VR, to market and providing ground-breaking features and network services."
The press release did not mention any news about any new consoles entering the market, but console fans see this as a sign of things to come, with Sony being able to move on to a new, more poweful console soon. The new PS4.5 is rumored to run on better hardware than its predecessor, including CPU of 8 Jaguar Cores at 2.1 GHz, GPU of Improved AMD GCN, 36 CUs at 911 MHz, and Memory of 8 GB GDDR5, 218 GB/s.
Sony has not released anything yet regarding this, and fans are speculating that the game company giant is preparing for a big reveal ahead of this year's E3.
In other related news, ItechPost also reported that Microsoft is also rumored to reveal a slimmer version of the Xbox One at this year's games expo, and could potentially pit the two new consoles against each other.
