Google Play Music is finally rolling out their family plan after teasing the public for a couple of months. The plan, which was first announced in September, covers six persons at $14.99 USD per month. And just like its competitor, Apple Music, the subscription per month entitles the user plus five others to access the Google Play streaming music library.

The tech giant announced in a post that they will start taking signups via Android these coming days. During this launching week, it will be first made available to users in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Germany, and France. The plan will be made available for more countries later, probably after testing how well the service will be received.

The family plan involves access to 35 million songs on demand, ad-free playback, individual Play Music profiles, the ability to maintain their own libraries, recommendations, playlists, listening history, plus the ability for the users to stream music simultaneously on each of their own devices. It can work with the web, Android and iOS devices.

Google Play Music's family plan can be compared to that of Apple's Music family plan, which is also priced the same. It is also better than what you can get with Spotify, which charges the same amount but only allows two people for their plan and charges $5 USD per additional user.

However, Google could gain the upper hand. The tech giant will also entice users to the benefits of YouTube Red, enjoying the full features of the recently launched YouTube Music app. All for the same price that Apple and Spotify offer their consumers.

Google said that the Play Music's family plan is available to Android users for signup but can still use the playlist and listen on iOS and the web. They also said that they are currently working on making the signup for other countries as well, but consumers just have to wait for a bit.
