The Google Calendar gained a new feature which is available to both Android and iOS users. The new feature is the "Reminders feature", which is said to work side-by-side with the "to-do feature." This feature enables consumers to keep track of their "to-do lists" across different Google platforms like Inbox, Google Now, Google Keep, and Calendar.
A short description details that a user can just create the usual calendar entries to remind themselves of appointments or chores like going to a doctor or buying groceries on the way home from work. But while those entries can come and go, the latest feature won't and instead will stick around so that the consumer himself can track if they were actually done.
What happens if the users' doesn't complete all those tasks they have on reminder? It will appear at the top the user's calendar the following day and the next until such time that the user completed it and swipe it way from their calendar. This feature which works properly across Google apps allows the user to create their "reminders" from Inbox, Google Keep, Calendar and can even be done using Google Now voice commands.
The new Reminders feature for Calendar will start rolling out this week for both Android and iOS users. The tech company said they will be modifying or making a web app version for the near future. Additionally, the updated Calendar app for iOS also adds 3D Touch to create reminders or create events.
Google Product Manager Vijay Umapathy said in a post that calendars should help users make the most of their times like scheduling their meetings, remembering brunch with friends and keeping track of their other activities.
And usually these "to-do lists" are located separately from the Calendar app that organizes the user's day. Because of this, the user ends up with too many tasks or commitments for a day or misses something important because they forgot to check their lists.
