It seems like Google is on the race for something. For the past weeks now, we have been hearing about their latest product or feature one after the other. The tech giant must be so focused on creating what they think will give their consumers the satisfaction and the necessary things/products to make their lives easier.
The latest to be unleashed by Google is their new virtual reality experience that is created with the help of Visa and the Bank of America. The latest VR experience will be available to both their Android and iOS costumers. The new VR promises to let the fans be able to immerse themselves in a behind-the-scenes look at the New England Patriots practice.
The 360 degree video will basically take fans to the Patriot's training facility, into the field, and even into the team's locker room. It will also enable users to take control of the camera, pan around from any angle and watch their favourite player do his move.
The latest Patriot's VR experience was built on the STRIVR VR training platform. It might not be the true VR technology but it is a glimpse of what's to come. Letting the user experience VR might lead them to purchase the product in the future; A very plausible tactic indeed.
So far, even though big companies and brands seem to be coming out with their own VR related products and content, it would seem like there is a little amount of fans for now. The VR industry might be heading to the gamers' route unless it gains enough users clamouring for it.
To get some of the Patriot's fans to experience it, 10,000 customized Cardboard viewers are being handed out at the Gillette Stadium. This happens to be another of those Cardboard giveaways meant to bring the VR experience to the type of people who might be converted into virtual reality believers like the earlier New York Times giveaway.
