The Motorola-made Google Nexus 6 may finally make its debut on Verizon Wireless later this week, on March 12 according to a new leak.
Google took the wraps off its Nexus 6 flagship smartphone back in mid-October, and the device has hit commercial availability for quite some time. AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile have all been offering the Nexus 6 for a good while, while Verizon remained MIA.
When the Nexus 6 made its official debut, Verizon Wireless was among the carriers to announce plans to offer the handset. Several months later, however, Verizon has still not offered any official details regarding the launch date of the Nexus 6 on its network. Verizon is notorious for its delays, but it seems the carrier may finally be getting ready to release the Nexus 6 soon.
A Verizon-branded promotional material has made its way online courtesy of one Reddit user, and reveals the Verizon Nexus 6 launch date as March 12. More specifically, the image in question, posted on image-hosting site Imgur, lists the release date as March 12 via web & direct fulfillment, and one week later on March 19 via all retail channels.
"Just got off the phone with a rep and she confirmed the dates," revealed the Reddit user Mh1781. "Also 32 GB midnight blue is all they offer. $250. Shipping is two business days if anyone is curious."
As a reminder, the Motorola-made Nexus 6 packs high-end specs and features all around, and also comes as the very first phablet in the Nexus lineup. In terms of specs, the Nexus 6 rocks a massive 5.96-inch display with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor under the hood, paired with 3GB of RAM. The phablet further features 32GB or 64GB of internal storage capacity, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front shooter, and a 3,220 mAh battery.
The Nexus 6 has stirred plenty of interest since its debut and many Verizon users are eagerly waiting for the device. Keep in mind, however, that Verizon has still not offered any official information in regards to the price and launch date of the Nexus 6. If this newly-leaked promotional material turns out to be accurate, we'll find out soon enough, but take it with a grain of salt in the meantime.
