Fitbit has three new devices to show off - the Fitbit Charge, Charge HR, and the Surge, all with a strong focus on health and fitness, as expected.

The new Fitbit Charge comes to replace the Fitbit Force activity tracker, sporting a few notable improvements over its predecessor. The Charge HR is similar to the Charge, but adds a heart rate monitor, while the Fitbit Surge is marketed as a "fitness super watch."

"Today is an exciting day for Fitbit, and we're so happy to share this news with you, our fans," Fitbit wrote in a blog post on Monday, Oct. 27. "Today we unveiled three new activity and sleep-tracking products: Fitbit Charge, Fitbit Charge HR and Fitbit Surge. Continuing our mission to inspire people to lead healthier, more active lives, we're releasing these three new innovative devices to help reach everyday, active or performance health and fitness goals."

Fitbit Charge and Charge HR

The Fitbit Charge and Charge HR come as the successors to the Fitbit Force activity tracker, which, as some of you might remember, caused some skin irritation issues and prompted the company to recall it.

The new Charge and Charge HR retain the same overall design of the Fitbit Force, and offer the same functionality such as monitoring sleep, tracking steps taken, calories burned, distance traveled, stairs climbed, and so on. Both devices are virtually identical, albeit the more expensive Charge HR comes with a heart rate monitor that continuously measures a user's heart rate. The Charge doesn't have a heart rate monitor.

The Fitbit Charge already went on sale in stores and on the company's website, sporting a $130 price tag. The Charge HR, meanwhile, will cost $150, but won't hit retail until early 2015. Fitbit Surge

While the Charge and Charge HR are both very capable fitness trackers, the star of the new lineup is the Fitbit Surge. Launching as the company's most advanced wearable yet, the Fitbit Surge comes with GPS tracking, continuous heart rate monitoring, as well as all of the usual activity tracking functionality.

"Surge is Fitbit's most advanced tracker to date: a sleek 'Fitness Super Watch,' designed for those looking for peak performance. Featuring 8-sensor technology that combines all-day fitness tracking with GPS, heart rate monitoring and smartwatch functionality, Surge is ideal for users committed to training, dedicated to health and consistently looking to improve progress."

The Fitness Surge comes in Tangerine, Black, and Blue color options, complementing the bright OLED display. The gadget also enables users to control their music in addition to keeping track of their various physical activities, and it also comes with customizable watch faces for displaying call and text notifications. The device won't allow users to take incoming phone calls or answer to text messages, but it will display notifications for incoming smartphone information. In terms of battery performance, the Fitbit Surge should last for up to seven days on a single charge, according to the company.

When it comes to pricing and availability, the higher-end Fitbit Surge will go on sale in early 2015 and will cost $249.95. In the meantime, check out the video below to learn more about this new fitness super watch.
