The Nokia Lumia 530 is apparently very popular in India although it has yet to officially launch, as pre-orders have already sold out.
Nokia has done some amazing things for Microsoft and the Windows Phone platform, as the company has been dedicated to launching all sorts of Lumia devices. Although Nokia has its fair share of high-end Lumia handsets, the company has always been very popular for its affordable options, which come in at the low-end or mid-range segment of the market. Even the lowest-end Lumiai devices launched with decent specs on board, offering great value for money.
The Nokia Lumia 520 proved to be the company's most popular device ever, and it now seems that the Lumia 530 is a worthy successor, following in its footsteps. More specifically, pre-orders of the Nokia Lumia 530 have sold out in India before the smartphone actually hit retail.
The Nokia Lumia 530 has already become available for purchase in some regions, but interested buyers in India still have a bit of a wait before the device hits commercial availability. Online retailer Snapdeal, however, has started taking pre-orders for the handset without requiring any down payment, and the Nokia Lumia 530 now appears to be sold out already.
The listing on Snapdeal's website for the Nokia Lumia 530 now shows that the smartphone is sold out, but promises a release date in the third week of this month.
For those unfamiliar with the Nokia Lumia 530, the device comes with a 4-inch display with a modest resolution of 854 x 480, a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, and just 512MB of RAM. Other specs include 4GB of internal storage capacity, microSD card support for additional memory of up to 128GB, dual-SIM support, a 5-megapixel rear camera, and a 1,430 mAh battery to keep things up and running. On the software side, the Nokia Lumia 530 runs Microsoft's Windows Phone 8.1 mobile operating system. The handset also comes with 15GB of free OneDrive cloud storage.
Snapdeal's product page for the Nokia Lumia 530 reveals that the retailer has processed more than 5,000 orders, but makes no mention of when it will add more stock. As previously mentioned, those who managed to pre-order the device should get it in the third week of August.
