Nokia has started teasing an upcoming event in a few days, and the company may unveil a new Nokia X2 Android smartphone.
After numerous rumors regarding Nokia's Android debut, the Finnish company launched its Nokia X family of Android-based smartphones back in February of this year. Recently, the rumor mill started churning in regards to an upcoming Nokia X2 Android smartphone, and the company's new teaser may be for this device.
Nokia is now signaling an upcoming announcement set for Monday, June 23, with the teaser "Green with Envy." This choice of words seems like a subtle hint to Android, suggesting that the rumored Nokia X2 may be ready to make its debut.
"Summer brings out our inner glow... stay tuned to Conversations to find out what we've got in store," Nokia touts. Just below this teaser, the company has also added a countdown timer to boost anticipation ahead of the event.
Rumors about the Nokia X2 have so far suggested that the smartphone will sport a 4.3-inch display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, pack a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, paired with Adreno 305 graphics and 1GB of RAM. Other rumored specs of the Nokia X2 include 4GB of internal storage capacity, a 5-megapixel rear camera, and a 0.3-megapixel front shooter.
It remains unclear at this point, however, whether the Nokia X2 will run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean or Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box when it launches. As the specs clearly suggest, the Nokia X2 is expected to arrive as a low-end smartphone with a budget-friendly price tag, aimed at first-time smartphone buyers or budget shoppers.
The Nokia X is further expected to come in the same bright range of color options Nokia has adopted so far, and the new teaser bolsters such claims. No other details are available at this point regarding this purported Nokia X, but more information should surface shortly. With Nokia's event just a few days away, we'll soon learn all about it straight from the source. We'll make sure to keep you up to date as soon as we hear more, so stay tuned.
