If you were wondering which Android apps sport the most exquisite design, Google's Android team has a top 10 list in this regards.

The Android team has just published a new list of Android applications that "go above and beyond the guidelines" in terms of design, providing a high-quality experience.

"Attention to detail makes an app truly beautiful: transitions are fast and clear, and layout and typography are crisp and meaningful. In this collection, we highlight a few beautiful apps with masterfully crafted design details," touts Google when describing its newly-published Beautiful Design Winter 2013 app collection.

The company first published a Beautiful Design collection back in July, which praised apps such as Pattrn, Flipboard, Pocket, Pinterest, and others for their aesthetic design elements. Several other apps have made it to the Play Store since then, and some of them made it in the new list.

The top 10 best-designed apps currently in the Play Store, according to the Android team, are as follows:

• Circa
• Etsy
• airbnb
• The Whole Pantry
• Runtastic Heart Rate Pro
• Tumblr
• Umano
• Yahoo! Weather
• Pinterest

Marco Paglia from Google's Android Design team also wrote a post on the Android Developers Blog, noting three apps in particular - Timely, Circa, and Etsy.

Timely (by Bitspin), a clock app that takes animation to a whole new level. Screen transitions are liquid smooth and using the app feels more like playing with real objects than fussing around with knobs and buttons. If you've ever wondered if setting an alarm could be fun, Timely unequivocally answers "yes".

Circa, a news reader that's fast, elegant, and full of beautiful design details throughout. Sophisticated typography and banner image effects, coupled with an innovative and "snappy" interaction, makes reading an article feel fast and very, very fun.

Etsy, an app that helps you explore a world of wonderful hand-crafted gods with thoughtfully designed screen transitions, beautifully arranged layouts, and subtle flourishes like a blur effect that lets you focus on the task at hand. This wonderfully detailed app is an absolute joy to use.

If you haven't used these apps so far, Google's high praise for their beautiful design might make you want to reconsider. What's even more beautiful is that except for The Whole Pantry, all other nine apps on this list are free. Have you picked a favorite yet?
