The latest WhatsApp update has made a massive change in how folks share pics and videos without making their quality smaller. Before this, many said WhatsApp made the quality worse when you send media, even after they tried fixing it in August.

This new update really improves things by letting you send files without making them smaller.

The big difference is how it deals with media files.

Unlike earlier, when you hit send, the files won't get smaller to fit in the chat box. Instead, if someone wants to see the real photo or video, they can click to see the full, regular-sized one.

You can also still send media the traditional way if you want to preview thumbnails in the chat. This switch is excellent because now you can choose between sending the media at its actual size or keeping the thumbnails.

New Update Let's You Send the Original-Quality Photos and Videos

While WhatsApp's latest change doesn't automatically happen, folks need to purposely pick sending uncompressed photos or videos by pressing the "+" sign to send them as a document.

WhatsApp plans to slowly spread the update everywhere, so it might take a couple of weeks before everyone gets it.

As for Android users, the update's in the works but lacks details on when it'll be out, like some sources said.

Facebook's WhatsApp has seen a lot this year. It brought a Mac app just for it and called for up to eight peeps in August, along with a Windows thing earlier in the year. They're also experimenting with AI stickers and voice notes that disappear, making everyday tasks more fun and adventurous.

These updates show that WhatsApp is trying to improve the experience for users.

Everyone used to send great photos and clips through WhatsApp before by shifting the file to PDF or DOC. Now, with the most up-to-date update letting uncompressed media sharing, that trick isn't needed anymore, making it more straightforward to pass top-notch stuff.

This development follows WhatsApp's HD Pictures update earlier this summer. While waiting to learn when Android users will get this update, we'll update this article when we hear back from WhatsApp.

Other New Updates in WhatsApp Keeping Private Chat Safe

WhatsApp recently added this new way to keep some chats private with a secret code, making it harder for others to snoop if they get your phone. This lock feature protects those talks from prying eyes who may use your device.

Now, people can set their own password to hide specific conversations, ensuring they stay unseen unless the search bar shows that code.

Phone owners with Androids or iPhones also got this chat update where you'll need your passcode, face, fingerprints, or unique code to see what's said in those private talks. Those secret conversations get their spot in a "Locked Chats" part of the phone to make them even more hidden away.

The update provides another layer of protection for those hush-hush messages.
