The gold color option for smartphones is apparently becoming a trend, and Samsung will reportedly offer a Galaxy Note 3 in gold as well, albeit in a white gold hue.

Apple's gold color option for the iPhone 5S turned out to be the most popular choice among consumers. HTC took note and made a gold version of its flagship HTC One as well. Now it seems that it's Samsung's turn to join the golden party with its Galaxy Note 3.

The latest flagship phablet from Samsung currently comes in black and white color options, as well as a Blush Pink model that seems a bit tricky to find. SamMobile is now claiming that Samsung will launch red and White Gold versions of the Galaxy Note 3 early next year.

"If you're willing to wait till January, you will be able to buy Samsung's latest phablet in red or White Gold, according to new information provided to us by our insider," SamMobile reports.

The red version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will reportedly launch in the first week of January, while the White Gold model would follow a couple of weeks after. Both variants are expected to become available worldwide, with some carriers or retailers possibly getting exclusivity for a while.

Other than the new color options, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will remain unchanged in terms of specifications. The S Pen-enabled device has a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, Adreno 330 graphics and a solid 3GB of RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 comes in three available storage configurations - 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB. Other specs include a high-end 13-megapixel rear camera with auto focus and the ability to record full HD video in 1080p, as well as a 2-megapixel front camera for self shots and video chats.

The phablet is already quite popular among consumers, and more color choices will most likely attract even more buyers. Keep in mind, however, that Samsung has yet to officially announce the new red and White Gold versions of the Galaxy Note 3, so take this report with a grain of salt for now.
