The Nexus 5 may be on its way to more carriers, as a recent report claims the smartphone will land on T-Mobile's network on Nov. 20.
Google's latest Nexus 5 smartphone made by LG made its grand debut last week. The handset is already available from the Google Play store, while Sprint and Best Buy are taking pre-orders as well.
According to a new report, T-Mobile may get the Nexus 5 in a couple of weeks, on Nov. 20. The information comes from TMO News, which obtained an internal T-Mobile document showing the Nexus 5 launch date.
The Nexus 5 comes with several impressive specs and marks a notable improvement over its predecessor, the Nexus 4. The new-generation Nexus smartphone is the first device to rock the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS and boasts Qualcomm's most recent flagship mobile processor, the Snapdragon 800, clocked at 2.3 GHz.
The handset further packs an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit (GPU) under the hood, as well as 2GB of RAM to provide a fast and smooth user experience. The Nexus 5 sports a 5-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a high pixel density of 445 pixels per inch (ppi).
The LG-made Google Nexus 5 also comes in two storage configurations - 16GB and 32GB. Other specs include an 8-megapixel rear camera with flash, auto-focus and optical image stabilization (OIS), and a 1.3-megapixel front camera for video chats. The smartphone also supports 4G LTE, NFC, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
Last year's Nexus 4 proved to be widely successful and gave both LG and Google a big challenge in trying to keep up with demand. The smartphone was almost always out of stock and proved once again that Nexus equals success. This year's Nexus 5 is expected to be even more popular due to its high-end specs, brand new OS and affordable price tag, as well as the Nexus experience that ensures that users get the latest firmware updates as soon as they are available.
T-Mobile has not confirmed Nov. 20 as the launch date for the Nexus 5, but it seems plausible. As always, however, it is advisable to take any unofficial reports with a grain of salt.
