After some owners of the new MacBook Pro with Retina display have reported issues with the device's trackpad and keyboard, Apple has acknowledged the problem and promised a fix.

Apple has admitted that some models of its latest MacBook Pro with Retina display are experiencing some issues that make the keyboard and trackpad unresponsive. The company said it is working on the issue and will offer a fix soon. In the meantime, Apple offered some tips to temporarily solve the problem.

According to the company, users should try putting the laptop to sleep for about a minute, then re-wake it and see whether the issue is still present.

"Apple is aware of rare circumstances where the built-in keyboard and Multi- Touch trackpad may become unresponsive on 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display (Late 2013) computers and is working on an update to resolve this behavior," the company explained on a support page on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

"If you experience this issue, reset the keyboard and trackpad by closing the computer's display for approximately one minute and then open it."

The new 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display made its debut last week, alongside the latest-generation iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina display. Some users of the new MacBook Pro have been reporting issues with their device since the very launch.

The new iteration arrives more than eight months after the previous update that came with faster, higher-performance Intel processors and lower price points for the 13- and 15-inch MacBooks. The latest refresh brought a thinner profile and bumped up the two models to the fourth-generation Intel chips, also known as Haswell. Apple also added Thunderbolt 2, as well as 802.11ac Wi-Fi antennas.

It remains unclear at this point just how many of the new MacBooks Pro with Retina Display are experiencing such issues. The "rare circumstances" Apple mentioned suggest a limited number of affected devices. Nonetheless, if you have the latest MacBook Pro with Retina display and are facing issues with the trackpad or keyboard, let us know whether the sleep/ rewake tip does the trick. Apple should offer a less temporary fix soon.
