Samsung is bringing the flip phone back in style and the company just announced its new Hennessy, a dual-screen phone with a quad-core processor.

The flip phone's form factor is not very common for Android smartphones, but Samsung plans to change that. The company has never been shy about trying new things and creating various products to suit as many budgets and tastes as possible and the new Hennessy proves this yet again.

The new Samsung Hennessy is a dual-screen flip phone running on Android and it almost looks like a regular Android phone from the front. However, when the phone flips over it reveals a second screen on the other side, complete with a full keypad. While some may mistakenly confuse the Hennessy with a feature phone due to its looks, the handset is actually a full-on smartphone with a powerful processor to keep things up and running.

The quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, however, seems a bit of an overkill considering that Samsung's new flip phone sports two 3.3-inch touch screens with a low resolution of 480 x 320. The new Hennessy also sports a 5-megapixel camera, a microSD card slot for expandable storage and a 1500mAh battery. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, likely with Samsung's TouchWiz on top.

Samsung has only announced the Hennessy W789 in China so far and there's no word yet on whether this flip phone will make it to other markets as well. The company did not give pricing or availability details at this point.

The Samsung Hennessy includes dual-SIM support for both CDMA and GSM radios, which means that an unlocked version of the handset could potentially work in the U.S. as well.

With smartphones growing increasingly bigger with massive touchscreen displays and all sorts features, the Samsung Hennessy will definitely stand out from the crowd. Consumers who are used to flip phones and enjoy this form factor will likely welcome the option of getting such a handset with Android on board and a more powerful processor. The phone also comes with a number of neat features such as ChatOn and multiple camera mode to provide a great Android experience. Read all about it in Samsung's announcement.
