Samsung will reportedly unveil its much-anticipated Galaxy Note 3 phablet early next month, along with the rumored Samsung Gear smartwatch.

Roughly one month before the annual IFA show kicks off in Berlin, Germany on Sept. 4, the rumor mill is churning at full speed in regards to what might finally make a debut. In Samsung's case, word is that the company will finally introduce its new phablet, the Galaxy Note 3, as well as its much-rumored smartwatch. Previously dubbed "Altius," Samsung's upcoming smartwatch will reportedly be called "Gear" and will debut alongside the new-generation Galaxy Note.

The news comes from a new report out of Samsung's home country of South Korea. Korean media generally has a good track record when it comes to anticipating Samsung's moves and the timeframe is consistent with previous rumors.

Launching the Samsung Galaxy note 3 at the IFA 2013 would make sense, as the company used the event before to launch the first- and second-generation Galaxy Note smartphones.

As for the Samsung Gear smartwatch, increasingly more evidence is piling up indicating an imminent launch for the new wearable gadget. Apple is reportedly gunning to launch its own iWatch as well, and Samsung is likely doing its best to release its product first.

While the new report does not offer any details on the purported smartwatch, it does reiterate that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will sport a 5.7-inch AMOLED display, a whopping 3GB of RAM and the new Exynos 5 Octa processor, at least in some models.

Previous whispers have also claimed that the next-generation Galaxy Note 3 will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor in some models, as well as a 13-megapixel camera and the latest Android 4.3 out of the box. Samsung reportedly has a number of Galaxy Note 3 models in testing.

Keep in mind, however, that Samsung has yet to make an official announcement. The new report is based on unnamed "industry sources," which means that it may or may not prove to be accurate. With the IFA 2013 rapidly approaching, however, it won't be long until official details become available.
