We knew it would be coming, but the early arrival of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean to HTC One is something surprising.
According to a renowned HTC leakster, the arrival of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update on HTC One handsets is just a matter of some weeks.
HTC is already running behind other Android-based smartphone makers when it comes to Android update. The HTC One devices out there in the market are still running on Android 4.1.2 when other smartphones have moved to Android 4.2.
However, according to some tweets from @LlabTooFer, the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean will be rolled out in two to three weeks.
The arrival of the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update is just a smaller part of the big information on his
Twitter page. Going ahead, he tweets that there will be another version of HTC One that will run stock Android without HTC's own user interface (UI) Sense.
If the HTC One with stock Android comes in the market, it is possible that the new device will not be available at HTC's webstore or other stores and will only be available on the Google Play store.
During the Google I/O 2013 developers conference, the search giant launched the first non-Nexus smartphone running stock Android at at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Google released the Samsung Galaxy S4's Google Edition without Samsung's TouchWiz UI and manufacturertweaked Android version.
According to Android Authority, "@LlabTooFeR says he knows about the HTC One without Sense 'for a fact'."
With HTC One getting the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, HTC Butterfly is also listed for the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update and the new firmware will land on the Butterfly with HTC's Sense 5 user interface.
There is no official confirmation from HTC or any of the carriers carrying the HTC One or HTC Butterfly across the world about the release of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update.
However, going by the record of @LlabTooFer, who predicted HTC First and Facebook phone correctly, we will keep our hopes high on the information.
