It looks like Sony is in the mood of giving a tough competition to the leading Android-based smartphone makers such as Sasmung, LG and HTC. The Japanese company is rumored to be making another high-end smartphone that might take over as the successor of the Sony Xperia Z.

Pictures of a Sony smartphone dubbed as Sony Xperia UL are circulating on the Internet with some basic specifications of the phone.

We got to know about the pictures from a Chinese technology website CNMO via Unwiredview.

The pictures show a featureless screen of the phone with a curved back. It also has the dedicated camera button like Xperia Z and Xperia ZL smartphones.

The most important thing about this new smartphone is that it will come with a removable battery that most of the Xperia lovers have been waiting for a long time.

The Xperia UL is codenamed as 'Gaga' and the back moniker on the phone shows it's connection with the Japanese carrier KDDI AU.

This is not clear as of now whether the smartphone will be exclusively available for KDDI AU subscribers only in Japan or it will be released worldwide as the successor of the Xperia Z or any of the Xperia smartphone.

We are just assuming that the smartphone will be much like the Xperia Z in terms of specifications. Xperia Z boasts of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and huge 2300 mAh power source and 1080 display make it a high-end smartphone.

The specification details of Xperia UL weren't revealed and it's anybody's guess whether it will come with the waterproof and dustproof features that are available in the Xperia Z smartphone.

It is possible that Sony will make some changes to the Xperia UL and release it in the Western market.
