Samsung was reportedly working on a waterproof and dustproof model of its newly released Galaxy S4 smartphone, but we didn't know that the release date of the rugged smartphone would be seen so early.

According to the famous leakster @evleaks, the smartphone called Galaxy S4 Active will head to AT&T stores with the device number SGH-I537.

"Samsung Galaxy S4 Active coming to AT&T under model number SGH-I537," evleaks posted on its official Twitter account.

The rugged model of the Galaxy S4 has been rumored for some time, but the name of the device wasn't given earlier. However, a Wall Street Journal report published last month suggested that the device might be tentatively called "Active."

@evleaks, which is famous for posting pictures of upcoming mobile devices, has not put up any picture of the Galaxy S4 Active.

The smartphone was also found in a very recent report from SamMobile that announced the release date of some upcoming Samsung smartphones based on information from its sources.

The Samsung-oriented website published a list of smartphones with their model numbers. Here is the list published by SamMobile:

GT-I9152ZWA*** - White - w20 - GALAXY Mega 5.8
GT-I9152ZKA*** - Black - w25 - GALAXY Mega 5.8
GT-I9200ZKA*** - Black - w19 - GALAXY Mega 6.3
GT-I9200ZWA*** - White - w21 - GALAXY Mega 6.3
GT-I9192ZWA*** - White - w29 - GALAXY S4 mini
GT-I9192ZKA*** - Black - w29 - GALAXY S4 mini

SM-C1010ZKA*** - Black - w23 - GALAXY S4 Zoom
SM-C1010ZWA*** - White - w25 - GALAXY S4 Zoom

If the devices mentioned in these two pieces of information are the same, then it looks like Samsung is going to shun its normal black and white only color strategy, at least for this tougher version of the Galaxy S4.

Specifications for the device haven't been disclosed by Samsung or any of the tech blogs, but assume that the specifications will not be much different from the Galaxy S4 smartphone, aside from the protection from water and dust.
