Playboy is bringing its popular bunnies to the iPhone, but the app is completely nudity-free, to comply with Apple's rules regarding adult content.

In other words, while Playboy is typically associated with smoking hot females stripped of their textiles, the women featured in the Playboy iPhone app remain clothed. The first issue offers a Q&A with Girls creator and star Lena Dunham, an interview with NYC chef Eddie Huang and a section for various tips on travel, cars, food, drink, gear and style for men. Also featured is the familiar interview, the shorter 20 questions, opinions on various social and political happenings, long-form non-fiction pieces and some fiction pieces.

According to the company, the new Playboy iPhone app includes exclusive pictorials of "breathtaking" beauties," complete with sections featuring returning Playmates, famous photographers and the lucky winners of Playboy's ongoing social media competition. The new app, Playboy 2.0, will also sport an opening video featuring beautiful Playmates.

"As the on-the-go extension of the Playboy brand, our new app brings the best of Playboy with original, thought-provoking and enticing bite-sized content that captures our design-driven and discernible style," CEO Scott Flanders explains in the press release. "We've rebuilt Playboy for iPhone from the ground up to attract the new generation of Gen Y fans who enjoy the indulgences of the artisanal good life and modern culture."

Other notable features of the revamped Playboy for iOS app include the ability to bookmark content for later reading, access previous months' issues and special collections, as well as download content and subscribe to the app.

Interested iPhone users can choose between three subscription offers. A recurring monthly subscription to Playboy costs $1.99, while the six-month subscription costs $10.99. The third option is a recurring annual subscription available for $19.99.

As previously mentioned, however, iOS users will not be able to enjoy the full Playboy experience due to Apple's restrictions regarding pornographic material. Cupertino's late CEO Steve Jobs clearly stated back in 2010 that Apple has a "moral responsibility to keep porn off the iPhone," and the company sticks to its stance.

Consequently, Playboy has no choice but to abide by Apple's rules and deliver clean, nudity-free content that leaves more to the imagination. The Playboy app for iPhone is currently available from the Apple App Store. An app for Android and the iPad is reportedly in the works as well.
