Apple is in update mood now as it releases two updates for iOS and Apple TV in just one day. The Apple TV has now received the latest software update 5.2.1 with a number of bug fixes.

Although the update doesn't have much in the new features category to offer, the Hulu Plus option added in the top navigation bar is the most significant feature of the 5.2.1 update.

"You'll notice we've added content categories across the top navigation bar to make it easy to for you to jump to your chosen section - whether it is TV, Kids, Latino, Search, or something else. Inside each category, you'll discover what's new in our content library so it's easy to discover new shows and keep up with the shows you already love. You can also jump into your favorite shows right away with the 'Shows You Watch' tray. We built this to make sure you never miss a new episode or lose your place in a series," a post on Hulu's official blog post mentions.

The update also fixes the earlier syncing problem with Netflix episodes. Users of the Apple TV who updated their set top boxes to the 5.2.1 update also confirm the same.

"The Netflix episode guide bug appears to have been fixed in the 5.2.1 update on my 3rd generation Apple TV," a user posts on Apple's support forum.

"New update for Apple TV released today. Downloaded and installed in about 20 minutes. No issues to report. One suggestion though. Restart your ATV before applying the update. You'll have no trouble," another users posts.

However, a new feature that allows users to get subtitles by keeping the 'Play' button of the remote control a little longer has got some font size related problem.

"I'm using Apple TV 3rd model and 5.2.1 firmware. Subtitle text displaying too small. Please add subtitle options for font size," a user posts.

The move of Apple releasing the update all of a sudden with not any major change looks like an anti-jailbreak move.

The 5.2.1 firmware update patches the evasi0n exploit used in Apple TV 5.2 jailbreak. If your Apple TV is running on Seas0nPass that supports the Apple TV 5.2 and you still want to keep it then you should stay away from the Apple TV 5.2.1 update.
