Motorola is busy rolling out Android updates for its smartphones in last some days, and now another smartphone is making way into the long list.

Motorola's DROID 4 smartphone from Verizon seems to be getting Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update very soon as the company is said to be sending out invitations to selected DROID 4 users to participate in a soak t est.

According to a Droid Life report, the invite for the soak test were sent to members of Motorola Feedback Network. "A number of readers of ours received invites last night to test out an 'early preview of a new software release,' though the words 'Jelly Bean' were not necessarily mentioned in the emails," the report states.

The Motorola DROID 4 was launched in early 2012 running Android 2.3 Gingerbread and later updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in August 2012.

Giving more boost to the report the Droid Life states, "With that said, a newish thread at Motorola's support forums is reminding DROID 4 owners that they should be sure their accounts have correct IMEI numbers attached because Jelly Bean is indeed on the way. More members there are also chiming in with soak test invites."

Motorola's global portal, which provides its customers software update related information, has also listed the slider phone for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update; however the timeframe for the update has not been disclosed so far.

Motorola recently update its DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR Maxx from Verizon to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The company has listed both the devices for the first quarter update and both of them got it before the first quarter of the year could come to an end.

As the first quarter has already come to an end, the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the DROID 4 smartphone is definitely going to enter the second quarter.

The Jelly Bean update for the DROID 4 will definitely be reaching the slider smartphone, all we have to see is how much time Motorola take with this soak test before releasing the software update.
