Perhaps one of the best things about Android is the fact that these devices come along in several different price ranges for different users, and now it seems like Samsung is ready to introduce a brand new smartphone that will be economical for the users.
Per reports, South Korean tech giant Samsung is set to announce a new kind of low-range Galaxy smartphone known as the Galaxy Pocket Neo, that falls under the economical category.
The fact that the new low-range smartphone from Samsung is coming soon was first revealed by a SamMobile report. The report says that the smartphone will be an entry-level Android smartphone much like the Samsung Galaxy Fame and Galaxy Young.
The Galaxy Pocket Neo is expected to arrive in two different versions – with and without dual SIM option. While the single SIM version will be bearing the model number GT-S5310, the DUOS variant is said to arrive with a model number GT-S5312.
The Pocket Neo, as the report states, features a 3.0-inch display with QVGA resolution, 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth version 4.0, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and A-GPS. While the dimension of the device could probably be 104.95 × 57.8 ×11.8mm, Samsung’s newest low-range Galaxy Pocket Neo is also 3G ready.
SamMobile writes: “Samsung wants to bring the Galaxy Pocket Neo in Silver and will be launched before week 20. The Galaxy Pocket Neo would be Samsung’s fourth low-range Android device this year. After the Galaxy Young, Galaxy Fame and Galaxy Star (not announced yet).” Week 20 is basically the second week of May.
In regard to the new information, it is actually quite noteworthy to point out that in the past there were rumors stating that Samsung was working on a low-end smartphone dubbed Samsung Galaxy Star. Samsung Galaxy Star too was expected to sport a 3.0-inch screen with QVGA resolution, alongside 4GB of internal storage and a microSD slot that supports cards up to 32GB.
“The Galaxy Star GT-S5282 is a low-end Galaxy device and will come in the color Scarlet Black. When look[ing] at the specifications of the Galaxy Star we can conclude that this device could be Samsung’s new Galaxy Y, only the Galaxy Star is based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean,” the report stated at that time.
