While LG recently revealed that the company has actually moved on to sell more than 10 million LTE phones, the company is back in news again with the reports of a brand new LTE smartphone on the cards.

Per reports, LG is said to be bringing the next wave of F series smartphones with the introduction of a brand new LTE-based smartphone called LG Optimus F5, and that the device will be available via Verizon.

This is new report after it was revealed earlier that another announced of the new LG F-series, the Optimus F3, would be coming to Sprint. The Optimus F5, which was revealed at the MWC this year, is now said to be headed towards Verizon for users, and moreover, going by model number VS870, the F5 will be sold by Verizon as the Lucid 2.

As far as the earlier Lucid version is concerned, the device, per the Examiner, was "hard to beat the Lucid when looking at the cost of most other smart phones with similar functionality. The five-ounce Lucid VS840 comes with all the bells and whistles you'd expect from an Android 2.3 4G phone. Its 4G LTE service from Verizon rocks, and I easily connected it to my home WiFi as well."

The Optimus F5, however, comes with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and could be categorized as a mid-range 4G phone. The device sports a 4.3-inch IPS touch-screen with a display resolution of 960 x 540 and a PPI of 256. Just for the sake of comparison, the new HTC One arrived with a PPI of 468, and so it could be made clear that the F5 falls into the category of a mid-range smartphone.

The Optimus F5 has processing power that comes from its dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of on-board memory. There is also the option to introduce additional 32GB of storage with a microSD slot.

The device has a primary five-megapixel camera, and one of the key features of the F5 is its Qslide function. Qslide has been introduced to make it easy for users to carry out cross-tasking with multiple Apps and to control window size, location and transparency.
