If you are an owner of Sony Xperia TL from AT&T, you will be most happy person today because AT&T has started rolling out Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for your handset.

Sony had released the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for its Xperia T series handsets across the world last month only, but the update had so far not arrived in the U.S.

The update is available for download only via Sony's PC Companion or Sony Update Service (SUS), but the update will soon be available over the air (OTA) and you will not have to connect your phone to your PC.

The latest update brings firmware version number 9.1.F.1.120 to the handset with model number LT30AT.

The update comes with a number of improvements related to the hardware and the software of the phone. The extended battery mode option has arrived with this update and users will be quite happy with this option as they will be able to use their devices for a longer period without having to charge it more frequently.

The update makes the user interface (UI) of the phone smoother because of which the keyboard becomes more responsive and faster.

The camera receives HDR capability and other things like Wi-Fi become more stable.

"It does have HDR capability now at the cost of 1MP (12MP vs. 13MP) not exactly earth shattering. My wifi connection appears to be much more stable, with animation scale set to 0 the UI cranks along at breakneck pace. The browser quick commands wheel in the labs section of the settings is much more responsive and better organized, and I am finding the keyboard response a little more fluid," a Sony Xperia TL user posted on XDA Developers' forum after updating his device to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.

"So far though, I feel like I just got a brand new phone," he added.

Though other carriers like Rogers have not released the update so far, it is believed that the updated for those users is also on the way and will be coming soon.
