Sam Fisher's fans have more good news heading over.
Per reports, Ubisoft has announced that the company's upcoming action-adventure stealth title 'Splinter Cell: Blacklist' will have an exciting Collector's Edition featuring a lot of extra surprises apart from the game.
Officially known as the Paladin Multi-Mission Aircraft Edition, the edition is set to launch on Aug. 20 in North America for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 users. However, there's no information as to when or if the edition will be released for PC gamers.
With the new Paladin edition, buyers will receive access to day one digital content that includes a 'Blacklist' poster and a copy of Splinter Cell Echoes (an 88-page graphic novel). Apart from this, the edition will also contain an R/C Paladin airplane. This airplane is the same one as that featured in Sam Fisher's latest adventure.
"R/C planes are all well and good, but what caught my eye was the inclusion of the 88-page graphic novel, written by Nathan Edmonson. Edmonson was pegged to write the graphic novel when Ubisoft discovered his on-going series, "The Activity," published by Image Comics," a Forbes report stated.
In a nutshell, apart from the 'Blacklist' video game, the Remote Control C-147B Paladin Aircraft is also a major attraction that will let players command the air with a custom 3-channel, dual-engine aircraft. The aircraft is inspired by the in-game Paladin mobile headquarters. The Paladin airplane is also the same one that Sam Fisher and his Fourth Echelon team use as their aerial base of operations.
The Echoes comic book, on the other hand, is a limited 88-page graphic novel by Eisner-nominated comic book writer Nathan Edmondson and illustrator Marc Laming. There's also a limited edition Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist poster, an exclusive Billionaire's Yacht co-op map, and a bonus Upper Echelon Pack with Dead Coast co-op map, Gold Sonar Goggles and Upper Echelon Suit.
The deal may sound good with the entire thing priced at $169.99. However, needless to say, the graphic novel will be one of the strong points of the edition, with novel taking place between the events of 'Splinter Cell: Conviction' and 'Splinter Cell: Blacklist.' The story bridges the gap between the two games with a realistic, original story that sets the ball rolling for the opening events in 'Splinter Cell: Blacklist.'
