Samsung has started rolling out the Android 4.1.2 software update for the international variant of its best-selling Galaxy S3 "GT-I9300", beginning with devices in Poland. With the new Android 4.1.2 software update on its way, users of the Galaxy S3 will benefit from a slew of new features including Multi-View Window and Page Buddy.
"Samsung has just started to push Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update to the International Samsung Galaxy S III GT-I9300. The Galaxy S III is Samsung's flagship device of the year and is also it's biggest worldwide selling device. Samsung has given the Galaxy S III top priority in Software Updates that's why Samsung keeps on updating this device to the latest versions of Android," reported SamMobile.
Per the SamMobile report, the software update with build "JZO54K" is being rolled out in phases and, therefore, may not be immediately available in a user's country or network provider. However, like the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, this version too will reach users soon.
SamMobile has listed all the new Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmwares for the Galaxy S3 in its
Firmware Section.
Earlier in September, Samsung had pushed out the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S3 in Europe, starting with Poland.
Even though Android 4.1.2 is a far cry from the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the software update will bring with it several new features for the Galaxy S3, most of which are similar to the ones for the Galaxy Note 2.
The enhancements the new software update brings are the Multi-View Window feature, Page Buddy, new Gallery app (same as Galaxy Note 2), customizable Notification Panel, disabling of brightness in Notification panel, Smart Rotation, Paper Artist app, Group Cast app for media sharing, and inputs in Samsung Keyboard (like Swipe).
The Multi-Window View feature lets users to multi-task by letting them run two applications on the same screen simultaneously as it adds split-screen functionality. Page Buddy adds context-specific home screen pages when a user is traveling overseas.
