After the August Security Update we received for Samsung Galaxy S22 and other devices, the company is now ready for a new version launch.
As usual, the update in September 2024 has many changes for many devices, as well as security patches. This month's update is notable also because of One UI 6. 1. 1 to choose among the Galaxy models.
It is not unusual for most brands to offer updates every month, and Samsung's update for September 2024 is no different as it brings several changes to the phone's security.
As mentioned on its official website, Samsung tells us that the update relates to several shortcomings that have a lot of high-priority fixes. However, there is one major bug that affects serious security concerns, marked as "critical."
It's important to note that the primary change for this update is the One UI 6.1, an upgrade for the Android-based interface.
Originally introduced with the One UI version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, it is now rolling out to other phones in Samsung's Galaxy line. Users will be able to enjoy new features and improvements to the system which will bring the AI of the devices closer to perfection.
Although not all the devices will be supported to receive the One UI 6. 1. 1 in September, those include one or two from the Galaxy S23 series, S24 series, and the like.
Indeed, it would be cultural to observe that the September patch was not accompanied by the Galaxy S24 update, thanks to the One UI 6. 1. 1.

The September 2024 security patch is being released gradually. One UI 6. 1. 1 will be available to select devices. However, the frequency of the rollout is not as high as it was in the previous months mostly due to the release of the One UI 6. 1. 1 and with the One UI 7 launch in the works.
According to 9to5Google, the Samsung Galaxy devices that will receive the September 2024 update include Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy S23 (with One UI 6.1.1), Galaxy S23+ (with One UI 6.1.1), Galaxy S23 Ultra (with One UI 6.1.1), Galaxy S23 FE (with One UI 6.1.1), Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy S20 FE, Galaxy A52s, and Galaxy A55.
While the above devices are actively receiving the September 2024 update, some models may have their updates delayed or combined with the upcoming October patch. This is especially true for devices that already received One UI 6.1.1 but are still running the August patch, including:
These models may skip the September patch altogether and receive the security improvements bundled with their October updates.
As is often the case with Samsung's updates, the availability of the September 2024 patch will vary depending on your location, carrier, and other factors. Users in some regions may receive the update earlier, while others may have to wait a little longer.
