A new Destiny mobile game which is allegedly dubbed Destiny Rising, could be in the works right now. NetEase is the one responsible for its development, according to a Twitter leaker.
It's surprising to know that the popular game franchise will continue to release a new title despite laying off employees recently.
The rumor originated from Twitter user Kurakasis, who claimed that Destiny Rising is still in active development despite Bungie's restructuring and layoffs. This claim was further supported by renowned industry insider Jeff Grubb on Threads.

As per Grubb's statement, the avatars we know will be replaced by the Hero characters. This indicates that the new Destiny mobile game will have an original gameplay style-something that fans should look forward to.
Of course, Bungie won't strip away the natural elements of the game that we used to love on consoles and PCs. It will retain the original experience which makes the franchise shine, but this time in a mobile format.

According to GameSpot, the mobile adaptation of Destiny was a part of Bungie and Sony's vision for the whole franchise. Although there are several projects along the way, they still want to test if the mobile game will fare well.
A Bloomberg report says that one of the new projects is the Destiny Rising. However, it's important to note that Bungie's spin-offs are not always trending to the masses.
Payback, a rumored project that was believed to be the next Destiny title was reportedly scrapped. Despite this, the studio seems committed to bringing the Destiny universe to mobile players, leveraging its established fan base for this new venture.
Axing 17% of the global workforce is not an easy decision for Bungie although the company clarified that it's a part of the "restructuring strategy." Even the high caliber officials executive creative director Luke Smith and vice president Mark Noseworthy also exited the company—although they were not part of the layoffs.
Based on the leak, Destiny Rising will still operate that's why it will be the next mobile game set for launch.
The jumping of the Destiny franchise from consoles and PC to mobile is not new anymore for gaming studios. Even Tencent is allegedly working on Elden Ring's smartphone version.
With that, Bungie could be thinking of reaching out to more gamers outside the usual platforms where Destiny titles became popular. There's nothing wrong with exploring new platforms, but NetEase and Bungie need to know that there's a risk in venturing into this untested territory.
Meanwhile, MobileNApps reported that BGMI, the Indian version of PUBG Mobile will feature a Spooky Spirit Theme as part of the A9 Royal Pass. For players who want to know the rewards they want to collect, check this report for more details.
