Google is gearing up to unveil its latest hardware lineup at an upcoming event. The tech giant is expected to introduce the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro smartphones, along with the highly anticipated Pixel Fold 2.
Beyond the flagship devices, rumors suggest the potential launch of new Pixel Buds and a refreshed Pixel Watch. Other than that, interesting leaks reveal that more updates are coming pretty soon ahead of Aug. 13.
New Pixel 9 Lineup Features Smaller Pro Option
Google is set to introduce the Pixel 9 alongside a new, smaller Pixel Pro option. The Pixel 9 Pro will be available in two sizes: a 6.8-inch model and a smaller 6.3-inch variant, marking the first time Pro features are available in different sizes. This change means the telephoto camera, previously exclusive to larger models, will now be accessible in both sizes.
Aside from that, The Verge reports that the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro will feature notable design changes, including flatter edges and a rounded camera module that protrudes from the back.
According to leaked specifications, the Pixel 9 Pro will include a G4 Tensor chip, 16GB of RAM, and storage options up to 1TB. The base Pixel 9 will have the same chip, a 6.3-inch display, and 12GB of RAM, with storage starting at 128GB.
Camera enhancements are also expected, with the Pixel 9 featuring a 10.5MP selfie camera, a 50MP main camera, and a 48MP ultrawide lens. The Pixel 9 Pro will likely have a 42MP selfie camera and three rear cameras: a 50MP main, a 48MP ultrawide, and a 48MP telephoto lens.
Additional rumored updates include the integration of Samsung's Exynos 5400 modem, possibly enabling a satellite SOS feature and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for improved reliability.
When it comes to colorways, the Pixel 9 color options will include obsidian, porcelain, rose, and green, while the Pro model will come in charcoal, porcelain, rose, and hazel.

Pixel 9 Pro Fold: Taller and Slimmer Design
According to Neowin, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold caught the attention of many when it was allegedly seen in a Taiwanese coffee shop. Right now, new leaks are pointing out to the foldable handset. With that, it's also anticipated to debut at the event.
Interestingly, the new foldable is expected to be taller and slimmer than its predecessor, with a redesigned squircle (square circle)-shaped camera housing.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold will feature a 6.3-inch cover display and an 8-inch inner screen, larger than the original Pixel Fold's displays. It will also be thinner, measuring 5.1mm when unfolded and 10.5mm when folded, and is designed to lay completely flat when opened.
Previous reports indicate that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will share the same G4 Tensor chip and 16GB of RAM as the other devices in the lineup. It will include a 10MP front-facing camera, a 48MP main camera, a 10.5MP ultrawide lens, and a 10.8MP telephoto sensor. Expected color options are porcelain and obsidian.
However, Neowin said that the new Camera FV-5 certification will instead feature a 12MP primary camera which will have OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization).
AI Features to Arrive For Pixel Series
Google continues to enhance AI integration across its devices. Leaked marketing materials suggest new AI-driven features for the Pixel lineup, including a Pixel Screenshots feature that helps save and organize information from screenshots. This feature will allow users to search through saved screenshots for details like events and locations.
Google's AI chatbot Gemini will also be integrated, offering advanced search capabilities. A new "Add Me" feature, as seen in a now-deleted report by Android Headlines, will use AI to insert a person into a photo, while updates to the Magic Editor tool will enable users to replace image backgrounds based on prompts.
Pixel Buds Pro 2: Improved Design and Features
The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are set to debut with a refreshed design, including a small wing tip for better stability. The new buds will have larger grills matching the color of the buds and a charging case with a small speaker, possibly for the Find My feature. They will be available in gray, white, green, and pink.
While specific specs are not fully known, a larger battery and the same active noise cancellation and multipoint features are expected.
What's even better is that Google will bring AI to your ears, according to T3. The tech news site even called it "Gemini on earbuds."
How About the Pixel Watch 3?
The Pixel Watch 3 will come in two sizes, 41mm and 45mm, with thinner bezels and a brighter 2,000-nit display. The 41mm version will feature a slightly larger screen and faster charging, while both sizes will offer extended battery life.
New features include offline Google Maps support, camera controls, and live Nest Cam and Nest Doorbell feeds. However, the 45mm model may not be compatible with bands from the previous Pixel Watch.
Additional Announcements and Future Leaks
Google has already revealed its new TV Streamer and the 4th-gen Nest Learning Thermostat, alongside new Gemini-powered features in the Google Home app. With the event approaching, more leaks and details are expected to emerge.
