"Pokemon GO" offers many species to catch, but the most sought-after captures are Ampharos and Shiny Ampharos. These monsters require a thorough understanding of the game's mechanics to provide strategic benefits in player-against-player (PvP) and player-versus-environment (PvE) scenarios.
Each has a different move pool and may use other attacks to do different amounts of damage.
Ampharos, Mareep's final evolution, is a fearsome tank in Pokemon console games. Its strong power makes it a valuable addition to any "Pokemon GO" squad.
Since Mareep and Ampharos have been around for a while, players have had plenty of chances to find these Sheep Pokemon in "Pokemon Go."
The Mareep Community Day Classic launched in November 2023 and offers the opportunity to acquire additional of these highly sought-after animals.
Ampharos and Mega Ampharos Moveset and Stats Guide
Derived from Shuppet, Ampharos and its Mega Evolution are recognized for their offensive strengths. Ampharos boasts a max CP of 3225, while Mega Ampharos peaks at 4799 CP. Their focus on attack stats particularly shines in Rainy and Windy conditions.
This guide explores the ideal movesets for both forms across diverse battle scenarios.
Ampharos, an Electric-type, has an offensive stat allocation of 211 ATK, 169 DEF, and 207 STA, with an array of 10 moves, including Electric, Thunder, Rock, Fighting, Dark, and Dragon types.
However, only 5 Electric moves qualify for the Same Type Attack Bonus (STAB).
The recommended Ampharos moveset pairs Volt Switch (Electric) and Brutal Swing (Dark) yield a combined DPS 12.78. Volt Switch deals 14 damage, generating 21 energy, potent against Flying, Water, Grass, Electric, Dragon, and Ground-types, benefiting from rainy weather boosts.
Brutal Swing, a Dark-type Charged Move, inflicts 65 damage at a 33 energy cost, intensifying in foggy weather and dealing heightened damage to Ghost, Psychic, Fighting, Dark, and Fairy-type Pokemon.
Mega Ampharos has impressive stats of 207 STA, 203 DEF, and 294 ATK. Its move pool is identical to Ampharos's, which helps it produce more damage during Mega Evolution.
Of the seven Charged Moves and two Electric-type Fast Moves, only five are STAB-enabled.
Combining Brutal Swing (Dark) with Volt Switch (Electric) results in the best Mega Ampharos moveset, which produces 17.08 total DPS. Volt Switch activates STAB, which deals 14 damage and releases 21 energy.
It is effective against Pokemon of the Flying, Water, Grass, Electric, Dragon, and Ground types and those enhanced by rain. Dark-type
Charged Move Brutal Swing provides 65 damage for 33 energy, amplifying in cloudy conditions. It also increases damage to Pokemon of the Ghost, Psychic, Fighting, Dark, and Fairy types.
Some of the Important Moves That Ampharos Can Learn
In "Pokemon Go," Ampharos has a wide range of moves in both the Fast and Charged categories. Some of the Charged Moves that Ampharos has are Power Gem, Brutal Swing, and Dragon Pulse.
However, Ampharos's performance in the Great or Ultra League battles is restricted.
According to PvPoke's November 2023 rankings, normal Ampharos is ranked #213 in the Ultra League, whereas Shadow Ampharos is ranked higher at #185.
Ampharos struggles in the Great League and might be better off using Trailblaze instead of Zap Cannon as a backup Charged Attack.
This Electric-type Pokemon didn't even rank in the top 300 in that league.
